A new innovation from Boeing, that became a patent only summer 2015 is the prototype that we put the biggest chances into. A work of American inventors Budica, Herzberg and Chandler has now formed a invention, that one day could fly as a normal airliner. With a innovational propulsion system, this self-powered airplane does not pollute. Inside the thruster a stream of pellets containing nuclear material flow onto a hotspot on which directly are powered two laser beans. Immediately the pellets vaporize and a nuclear reaction takes place, due to the rapid increase on heat of the hotspot. There the nuclear explosion releases in a high speed atoms and high energy newtons out of the thrust which gives the thrust force to move the airplanes with great speed. Nothing is not left unused, as the inner walls of the thrust are coated with uranium-238 which catches the heat which travels to a turbine and powers it. The turbine releases a huge amount of electric power that powers the lasers! We made a model of this for the Vienna Science Fair. This plane can be the future, or another one of canceled projects.
